Quebec grocery store introduces shopping carts for singles

You never know when or where you'll find true love.
Maybe you'll be at the grocery store, reaching for the last couple
ripe bananas, when your hand meets another. You look up and fall madly
in love with the person, but there's one problem... Are they single?
Well the IGA Extra Marché Famille Julien in Rouyn-Noranda has you covered.
Since last Thursday a handful of baskets have been flying the
"single" flag, literally. The owner of the store, Luc Julien told
Energie Val d'Or it was a customer who came to him with the idea.
"At the time I was too busy to deal with that, but it was always something that stuck in my mind" Julien said.
Julien said the carts are all in good fun, and if the store can help
make a love connection, even better. He added that customers are already
using the specially marked baskets; at times all three of them can be
seen being pushed up and down the aisles of the store.
Regardless of what you think of the idea, it has got people talking.
The store posted a photo of one of the carts to its Facebook page; it's
been shared more than 15,000 times and seen by nearly two million
people, some as far away as Europe.
For now the store only has the trio of "single" carts, but Julien
said the store plans to have a dozen available by the end of the week.
